Ovtas Ter I, Polaris Series, 2017-2018
Upon first glance, it might be hard to note that all three projects have been constructed in the camera lens only. In the first series in these composed landscapes, Ovtas Ter I Polaris, the lights in the forest images twinkle like stars photographed in the forest in the last moments of twilight. I consider this series a compass or starting point. These photographs are about searching and finding something unseen or unknown. For this project, a part of the series I sketch in the woods with long exposures, the lights in the forest images twinkle like stars photographed in the forest in the last moments of twilight. Constructing with light I reference star maps after researching constellations in the evening sky, carefully I map in the underbrush the unseen stars in the heavens below in the forest's shadows.
